Rahmatu’lláh Hakímán

Rahmatu’lláh Hakímán (June 18, 1932 - January 6, 1984) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Hakímán was born in Kirman in 1932. In his professional career he worked for the Department of Agriculture and he also served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Kirman.[1]

After the Revolution in Iran Hakímán was dismissed from the Department of Agriculture after twenty-eight years of service due to being a Bahá’í and his brother Jalál was executed due to his beliefs on May 1, 1983. He was arrested on December 30, 1983, alongside the other members of the Local Assembly of Kirman and was not permitted visitors during his imprisonment.[1]

On January 11, 1984, Hakímán's death certificate was accidentally released dated January 6, 1984, without elaborating the details of his passing while imprisoned. His body was not returned to his family for burial.[1]
