Quest for Eden, The

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

The Quest for Eden is a book published in 1966 by the Philosophical Library, New York. This is a thoughtful and challenging book, which does not indicate in any way that it will lead the reader to learn about Bahá'u'lláh. It is essentially not an academic work, and is thus accessible to a wider audience. The author clearly studied many volumes detailing what is known about early Middle Eastern cultures, including particularly the Sumerians. Her knowledge of non-Biblical sources enables her to make many interesting points and connections of which most Bahá'í writers are unaware. She uses the twin tracks of looking backwards in time for information about the original Eden, and forwards in time for man to rediscover "Eden" in the future.
