Portsmouth is a city in Hampshire, England. It is on the south coast, and is the centre of much marine and naval activity. It is twinned with Haifa, as both are significant ports. Its symbol is a crescent moon and star, which King Richard I granted to it, the king having been struck by this design when on the Crusades. The design is also used to represent the Association Football team.
