New Haven is a city in the U.S. State of Connecticut.

History[edit]

There were Bahá’ís living in New Haven as early as 1911 with the Bahá’ís of the city making a contribution to the Bahá’í Fund that year.[1] In 1916 it was reported that a Bahá’í community had been established in the city,[2] and in 1917 a delegate represented New Haven at the National Convention for the North American Bahá’ís.[3]

In 1920 Dorothy Beecher visited New Haven for two weeks to assist with the teaching work delivering talks at public and private meetings including at the Theosophical Society,[4] and in 1923 Fádil Mazandarání visited the city for a few days during a teaching tour.[5] In 1925 the Local Spiritual Assembly of New Haven was established.[6]

The Assembly lapsed at some point in the late 1920's but was re-established in 1931.[7]
