The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Caroline Islands was the body responsible for administrating the Bahá’í community of the Caroline Islands. The Caroline Islands include the current countries of the Federated States of Micronesia (the island groups of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae) created in 1978, and Palau (the Palau island group), created in 1992. After World War II, it was made a Trust Territory of the United Nations with the United States being responsible for its development.

Formed[edit]

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Caroline Islands was formed in 1978, succeeding the National Spiritual Assembly of the North West Pacific Ocean.[1]

It was split into independent National Assemblies for the National Spiritual Assembly of the Eastern Caroline Islands (Island groups Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae) and National Spiritual Assembly of the Western Caroline Islands (island groups Palau and Yap) in 1985. In 1986 The Federated States of Micronesia was formed with 4 of the 5 islands groups of the Caroline Islands. Palau was formed with the fifth island group in 1994.
