The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Burundi is the national administrative body responsible for the Bahá’í community of Burundi.
History[edit]
The National Spiritual Assembly of Burundi was formed in 1972.[1] It was disbanded around 1974 when the government began to implement restrictions against the Faith however by 1975 most of the restrictions were reversed,[2] and the National Assembly was re-formed in 1978.[3]
Political instability in Burundi resulted in the National Assembly disbanding a second time in 1996 and the situation did not allow for the re-establishment of the Assembly until 2011.[4]
