Násir Vafá’í

Násir Vafá’í (November 1, 1931 - June 14, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Hamadán. He was martyred following the 1979 Revolution in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Vafá’í was born in Hamadán in 1931 and completed his primary schooling there. He then moved to Tehran for further studies ultimately completing a medical degree at Tehran University. He was employed by the Ministry of Education and stationed in Bijar for one year before being transferred to Hamadán where he established a private medical practice an taught at the Hamadán College of Health Education.[1]
In 1969 Vafá’í was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Hamadán and in 1971 he was appointed the Head of the Health Division of the Education Department of Hamadán Province. He was arrested on August 9, 1980, and tortured before being executed alongside six fellow Assembly members on June 14, 1981.[1]
