Muhammad Habíbí

Muhammad "Sohrab" Habíbí (February, 1933 - June 14, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Hamadán. He was martyred following the 1979 Revolution in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Habíbí was born into a Bahá’í family in Hamadán in 1933. He became an active Bahá’í and was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Hamadán and his family resided in a building adjacent to Hamadán's Bahá’í Centre allowing him to maintain the Centre's library.[1]

On August 13, 1980, Habíbí was arrested alongside other members of the Local Spiritual Assembly. They were tortured before being executed on June 14, 1981.[1]
