Mohamad Shaikhzadeh (March 23, 1931 - October 31, 1996) was a Persian Bahá’í who pioneered to Brazil where he served on the National Spiritual Assembly and assisted with the development of the Soltanieh Bahá’í Educational Center.
Biography[edit]
Shaikhzadeh was born in Zavareh, Iran, in 1931.[1] Both of his parents passed in 1940 and he was raised as a Bahá’í by his eldest sister going on to pioneer to Abadan in his youth where he focused on promoting Bahá’í youth activities. He completed a degree in chemical engineering in his youth and secured a position at a petroleum company after graduating.[2]
In 1960 Shaikhzadeh pioneered to the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil settling in Sao Caetano do Sul. In 1961 he pioneered to Santo Andre where he helped establish a Local Spiritual Assembly being elected to the inaugural body and serving on it until his passing. He was also elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Brazil at some point and served on several of the National Spiritual Assemblies committees.[2]
In 1984 the Soltanieh Bahá’í Educational Center was established and Shaikhzadeh assisted with the development of the body assisting with its growth and organization and coordinating its programs. He passed away in 1996 while still serving at his pioneer post.[2]
