Mihdí Báhirí

Mihdí Báhirí (March 26, 1934 - July 29, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Báhirí was born in Marghih in 1934. After completing his schooling he studied English in Tabriz at a branch of the University of Cambridge. He also completed studies in photography and accounting before securing a position with the Iranian Ministry of Health. He was also elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Tabriz serving up until his martyrdom.[1]
When the Iranian Revolution began in 1979 Báhirí was dismissed by the Ministry of Education due to being a Bahá’í. His home was raided by Revolutionary Guards on August 15, 1980, and he was arrested and imprisoned until being executed by firing squad alongside several other Bahá’ís on July 29, 1981.[1]
