Mansfield is a town in the U.S. State of Connecticut located in Tolland County.
Some of the earliest Bahá’ís of Connecticut lived in Mansfield as early as 1911. A community was not firmly established until 1971 however it was not consolidated and had largely lapsed by the early 1980s.
History[edit]
There were individual Bahá’ís living in Mansfield as early as 1911 with contributions to the American Bahá’í fund being received from residents of Mansfield that year however a community was not established.[1]
In 1971 a mass teaching project directed by Adrienne Ellis Reeves was undertaken in Mansfield which resulted in the establishment of a Local Spiritual Assembly in the town.[2] By 1982 the number of Bahá’ís in Mansfield had dropped to seven and the Local Spiritual Assembly had lapsed as a result.[3]
