Manakji is the name given to the Parsee who came from India to Iran in the nineteenth century, with the express intention of protecting his fellow religionists in Iran. He undertook a busy schedule of writing, and employed a Bahá'í as his secretary. His significance in Bahá'í history is that he wrote, on more than one occasion, to Bahá’u’lláh, asking Him questions about His Teachings, and some of the Blessed Beauty's tablets were written in response to these letters.
