Mahshíd Nírúmand

Mahshíd Nírúmand (December 10, 1955 - June 18, 1983) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Nírúmand was born into a Bahá’í family in Sarvestan in 1955. She moved to Shiraz to pursue academia and completed a Physics degree at Shiraz University and diplomas in English, German, and French. She was also an active member of the Bahá’í community teaching Bahá’í children's classes.[1]

On November 29, 1982, Nírúmand was arrested and she was executed by hanging on June 18, 1983, alongside nine fellow Bahá’í women. Her body was not returned to her family for burial.[1]
