Madínatu'r-Riḍá

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

Madínatu'r-Ridá, provisionally translated as City of Radiant Acquiescence, is an Arabic Tablet revealed by Bahá’u’lláh in Baghdad.

Adib Taherzadeh writes that the Tablet focuses on contentment and outlines what is required to be content. The prime requisite for contentment is to be resigned to the Will of God and accept whatever is destined, and other aspects are to be content with one's self, and to be pleased with and humble before the believers. Other themes discussed in the Tablet are that the physical world is fleeting, and that God will reward those who endure hardship with patience.

Taherzadeh notes that although this Tablet was revealed prior to the Declaration of Bahá’u’lláh, and has instructions to follow what was revealed by the Báb, it has allusions to His station.
