Lawḥ-i-Bahá
The Lawḥ-i-Bahá, provisionally translated as Tablet of Glory, is a Tablet of Bahá’u’lláh revealed partially in Persian and partially in Arabic in Adrianople. It has not yet been officially translated but a provisional translation of fragments exists.
Background[edit]
The Tablet was revealed for Khátún Ján, who had been a close friend of Ṭáhirih, shortly before March, 1866, when Bahá’u’lláh moved His residence in Adrianople to the house of Ridá Big due to conflict with Mírzá Yaḥyá and his followers.[1]
In the Tablet Bahá’u’lláh condemns the actions of Mírzá Yaḥyá and his followers who had attempted to assassinate Him. In the Tablet Bahá’u’lláh refers to His own followers as the people of Bahá and it was around this time that the followers of Bahá’u’lláh began to consider themselves as having a religious identity distinct from the Bábí religion.[2]
