Khusraw Afnání

Khusraw Afnání (1955 - January 1, 1979) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred.

Biography[edit]

Afnání was born in Miyan-Duab in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan. In his youth he served in the military and he completed his service in the late 1970's and got married shortly afterward.[1]

As of 1979 he was living on his fathers property in Miyan-Duab where they raised sheep. On January 1, 1979, a mob attacked their property and his father attempted to persuade them to leave. Someone from the mob began killing their sheep and Afnání fired a shotgun in an attempt to disperse the mob and inadvertently killed a member of the mob. The mob then murdered Afnání and his father, hacking them to death with sickles and then burning their bodies.[1]
