Jalálíyyih Mushta‘il-Uskú’í (1921 - May 10, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Uskú’í was born into a Persian Bahá’í family in Ishqabad, Turkmenistan, in 1921 and her family returned to Iran in 1928. She completed her schooling in Tabriz then studied teaching and secured employment at the Teacher Training College of Zanjan working for the Ministry of Education and she also served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Zanjan.[1]
In 1955 Uskú’í was dismissed from her position due to being a Bahá’í during a period of intensified persecution of the Bahá’í community of Iran. She argued against her dismissal and was eventually reinstated and given a position in Urmia. She was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Urmia in 1965.[1]
In 1981 Uskú’í and some other members of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Iran were arrested and imprisoned in Urmia prison and she was executed on May 10, 1982.[1]
