Jacobeth Maqutu

Jacobeth Maqutu was an early Lesotho Bahá’í who served as an Auxiliary Board member.

Background[edit]

Maqutu was married to Arthur Clement Maqutu. They both became Bahá’ís in 1958 through Elliot Khabisi and their home became a center of Bahá’í activity with Maqutu facilitating a successful children's class.[1]

Maqutu served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Hlotse into the late 1970's.[2] She also served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Lesotho at some point after it was formed in 1971,[1] and was appointed as an Auxiliary Board member for Lesotho in 1978.[3]
