Isle of Wight

This article is about a city or territory and needs to be expanded. Try searching Isle of Wight on bahai.works. (Help - Citing sources)

The Isle of Wight is an island situated opposite the city of Southampton, and is separated from it by a stretch of water known as the Solent. This part of England sees a great deal of activity from pleasure craft, races, etc. The island was, until 1974, part of the county of Hampshire, but the local government reorganisation at that time separated it into a separate county. (It is now England's smallest.) The Bahá'í activity has often been centred on the town of Ryde, which is on the north coast of the island, opposite the mainland.
