The Isle of Man is a formerly Gaelic-speaking island and self-governing territory in the Irish Sea (also known as the Celtic Sea). Apart from motor bike racing, it is widely known for its Manx cats, which are a tailless breed of domestic cat. Probably the first Bahá'í to move there was Molly Hughes, who moved from the Liverpool area in around 1970 to open the island. Molly herself was born on the island, and so was returning to her home. In 2014 there were approximately six Bahá'ís on the island, which constitutes a separate cluster, and the National Spiritual Assembly of the United Kingdom, which has been given jurisdiction over the island, has a goal of establishing a programme of growth there. It is judged that additional pioneers will be required to further the development of the Bahá'í community there. In 2020, this cluster is still not judged to be at the first milestone, although the small Bahá'í group is organising activities.
The capital is Douglas.
The highest point on the island is Snaefell, and allegedly on a clear day, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England can all be seen on the horizon.
