Isabel Horton

Isabel Horton was an American Bahá’í who served as a pioneer to Portugal and Madeira.

Background[edit]

As of 1954 Horton was serving as the secretary of the Local Spiritual Assembly of West Brattleboro in Vermont.[1] As of the early 1960's she had pioneered to Portugal and in 1961 she was elected to the inaugural Local Spiritual Assembly of Oeiras.[2]

In 1964 Horton pioneered to Funchal, Madeira, joining the islands only pioneer Elizabeth Hopper and she remained there until Hopper passed in 1967.[3] She returned to Madeira in 1969,[4] and became correspondent of the Bahá’í Group of Funchal which was established that year.[5]
