Indianapolis is a city in the U.S. state of Indiana.
History[edit]
Ali Kuli Khan made a teaching trip to Indianapolis in 1916 during which he gave several talks and he was enthusiastic about the potential to establish a Bahá’í community encouraging the the Chicago Bahá’í community to support teaching efforts in the city after his visit.[1] By 1919 Bahá’í meetings were being held regularly in the city.[2]
In 1932 it was reported that the Bahá’í group of Indianapolis was one of the larger groups in the country and was likely to form an Assembly,[3] with the Local Spiritual Assembly of Indianapolis being established in 1933,[4] then sending a delegate to the 1934 National Convention.[5]
