Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Divine agency by which God breathes spiritual life into, quickens the souls of, and confirms, strengthens and assists individual human beings, acting as the mediator between God and man.[1][2][3] The Holy Spirit is the source of intellect and the power of thought, enabling human beings to gain scientific knowledge, make discoveries and understand and gain mastery over the laws of nature.[2] Assistance from the Holy Spirit is necessary for spiritual growth, progress, and transformation; without it, material things (such as the human body) would be inert and without significance.[4][5]
‘Abdu’l-Bahá explains that the Holy Spirit is the source of the power and lasting influence of the Manifestations of God,[1] describing it as "the outpouring grace of God and the effulgent rays that emanate from His Manifestation".[6] The Manifestations of God are the vehicle by which the Holy Spirit is delivered to humanity.[2]
