Hasan Ismá‘ílzádih

Hasan Ismá‘ílzádih (1896 - June 6, 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Ismá‘ílzádih was born in Sanandaj in 1896. He married and had nine children settling in Saghez with his family, however in 1941 his home was burnt down in a period of civil unrest with his belongings being seized by looters. He moved to Sanandaj where he established a successful barber shop and he served several terms on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Sanandaj from 1946 to 1955.[1]

In 1980 the city of Sanandaj was besieged during the Iranian Revolution and Ismá‘ílzádih was shot on June 6 while crossing the street. He was buried under a wall although once order was restored his remains were exhumed and buried in a local cemetery however his family was not informed.[1]
