Haji-Muhammad 'Azizi

Haji-Muhammad 'Azizi (c. 1908 - January 9, 1979) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred for his beliefs at the onset of the Iranian Revolution.

Background[edit]

Azizi was born in Khormoj, Iran, in approximately 1908 or 1909. He lived in the city for his entire life.[1]

On October 10, 1978, he was attacked by a mob due to being a Bahá’í and severely beaten and due to the severity of his injuries he became bedridden and passed away as a result on January 9, 1979.[1]

It was not possible for him to be buried in a Bahá’í cemetery and he was laid to rest in a local public cemetery.[1]
