Habibollah Mohtadi

Habibollah Mohtadi (1916 - August 27, 1986) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Mohtadi was born into a Bahá’í family in Tehran in 1916. He completed a law degree at Tehran University and in his career he enlisted in the Iranian Air Force ultimately achieving the rank of Colonel. He married and had children who settled in the United States.[1]
In 1982 Mohtadi visited his children in the United States and when he returned to Iran in May that year he was arrested and imprisoned until being released in October 1985. He was confronted by Revolutionary Guards outside a petrol station in Tehran in August 1986 and when he refused to be detained by them he was murdered. He was buried in accordance with Bahá’í law in Tehran.[2]
