Hájí Mírzá Díyá'u'lláh Afnán
Hájí Mírzá Díyá'u'lláh Afnán (1881 - 1942) was a Persian Bahá’í who was a member of the Afnán family.
Biography[edit]
Díyá'u'lláh was born in 1881 into a Bahá’í family. His father was Núri'd-Dín a close relative of the Báb, and his mother was Maryam-Sultán Bagum who was also a member of the Afnán family.[1]
In 1891 Díyá'u'lláh accompanied his father and some of his brothers to the Holy Land where they were able to meet with Bahá’u’lláh. He then moved to Egypt with them remaining there for two years before moving to Shíráz in Iran. In Shíráz he began working in civil administration working closely with the governors of the city.[1]
In his personal life Díyá'u'lláh married Aghá Bagum, daughter of fellow Afnán Mírzá Mahmúd, and they had six children. Their sons were Mírzá Siyyid Muhammad, Mírzá Bahá'í, Mírzá 'Abbás, and Nuri'd-Dín, and their daughters were Farahangíz and Thurayyá. He passed away in 1942.[1]
