Gushtásb Thábit-Rásikh

Gushtásb Thábit-Rásikh (1951 - September 11, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Thábit-Rásikh was born in Chikan in 1951. He established a career as a farmer in Chikan, married, and had two children. He was also an active member of the Bahá’í community serving on the towns Bahá’í Youth Committee. When the Islamic Revolution began in 1979 the Bahá’ís of Chikan faced persecution and the majority, including Thábit-Rásikh and his family, moved to Isfahan.[1]

On August 16, 1981, Thábit-Rásikh was arrested at his home in Isfahan and tortured. The following day he was transferred to a prison in Daran where he continued to be tortured until he was executed by firing squad in the prison courtyard on September 11, 1981. His family was not informed of his execution and his body was not returned for burial.[1]
