Guldánih ‘Alípúr.

Guldánih ‘Alípúr (1918 - December 23, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

‘Alípúr was born into a Muslim family in Sada-Mahalleh, a town in the vicinity of Sari, in Iran. She married a Bahá’í in 1938 and raised their children as Bahá’ís although she did not declare herself until 1978.[1]

After the 1979 Revolution in Iran ‘Alípúr's family suffered severe persecution in the village of Rowshan-Kuh where they were residing due to their religion. At one point they were forced to leave the village but later returned. On December 23, 1982, a mob invaded their home while ‘Alípúr's husband was tending to cattle and she was strangled to death and the home was burned down.[1]
