Glen Ellyn is a village in the U.S. State of Illinois. It is considered a suburb of Chicago.
History[edit]
As of 1944 there was a small Bahá’í presence in Glen Ellyn with some Bahá’ís living in the locality but not enough to form an organized group,[1] and this remained the case until at least 1950.[2]
As of 1989 the Local Spiritual Assembly of Glen Ellyn had been established but was at risk of lapsing that year with the community requesting pioneers to maintain the body,[3] and the body was maintained albeit requiring additional home-front pioneers through to 1993.[4][5][6]
By 1996 the Glen Ellyn Bahá’í community had stabilized and that year was noted as being a community providing sustained financial support for the U.S. National Bahá’í Fund.[7]
