Farhang Mavaddat

Farhang Mavaddat (June 17, 1925 - June 23, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Mavaddat was born into a Bahá’í family in Tehran in 1925 where he completed his schooling and studies in chemical engineering at Tehran University. After graduating he moved to Mashhad where he worked at the Abkuh Sugar Factory and due to his accomplishments he was employed by several sugar factories across the country assisting them in improving productivity and the quality of their produce. He served on the Local Spiritual Assemblies of several of the towns where he was posted in his professional career.[1]
Mavaddat's last professional post was at a sugar factory in Karaj where he also served on the Local Spiritual Assembly. He was arrested on September 19, 1980, and held for three weeks in a Karaj prison. He was arrested again on October 17, 1980, and held in Evin prison in Tehran until being executed on June 23, 1981.[1]
