Family Plowing and other prairie poems, new and used is an anthology of ninety-five poems by Duane L Herrmann that focus on his rural, farming background celebrating the natural world and life on the rolling prairie of the American mid-west. It was published by Meadowlark books in 2019. Poems included in this collection come from Whispers Shouting Glory, Prairies of Possibilities, Ichnographical: 173, as well as some previously uncollected poems and some new, unpublished ones gathered together here for the first time. Some are devotional in nature.

The preface to the book announces: "The country is the world of the soul, the city is the world of bodies," with attribution to Bahá'u'lláh.
