Dr. Eric Kingston is an Australian Bahá’í who has served as a National Spiritual Assembly member and Continental Counselor.
Background[edit]
Kingston completed a PhD in chemistry and began working for BHP Petroleum in 1986. He worked for the company, conducting scientific research, until 1999 becoming BHP's senior expert on strategic environmental issues and serving on several international committees. He also worked with RMIT University.[1]
Kingston was an active Bahá’í from his youth serving in a travel teaching team to Mornington Island in the late 1970's.[2] He served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Australia in the early 2000's until being appointed to the Continental Board of Counsellors for Australasia in 2005 for a five year term.[3] After completing his term as Counselor he was re-elected to the National Assembly as the bodies Secretary,[1] serving until 2013 when he accepted an administrative position at the Bahá’í World Centre departing Australia to serve in the role.[4]
