Dr. David F. Young MD is a Bahá'í who serves on the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States and has been its chairperson since 2017.
Dr. Young was born into a Bahá'í family in Pendleton, Oregon son of Merlin and Katherine and brother to Barbara Haluapo, Ruth Hall, Richard and William Young. Merlin and Katherine served on the first LSA of Pendleton as Chair and Secretary and for the next 45 years. He has served as a delegate to the U.S. National Bahá'í Convention of the US since 1986 and has served as Convention chairperson since 2009. He attended Stanford University, University of Oregon Medical School, and completed a residency at the University of Irvine, CA. He is married to Elahe Vahdat Young who serves on the Regional Bahá'í Council of the Northwest. He currently resides in Medford, Oregon and is a practicing Dermatologist.
