Biography[edit]
Forghani was born and raised in Iran and graduated with a pharmacy degree from Tehran University. In 1971 he left Iran and eventually settled in Australia where he worked in the pharmaceutical industry.[1] In April 1982 he participated in a conference on Bahá’í scholarship at the University of Tasmania speaking on the life of Mírzá Abu'l-Fadl.[2]
In 1989 Forghani and his wife moved to the Holy Land where they served at the Bahá’í World Centre until returning to Australia in 2003.[1]
In 2012 Forghani passed away. The Universal House of Justice sent the following message after his passing:
"The Universal House of Justice was saddened to learn from your email letter dated 24 November 2012 of the passing of consecrated servant of the Blessed Beauty Baher Forghani. His many services to the Cause of God, including his distinguished labours at the Bahá’í World Centre and his contributions in the field of Bahá’í literature, are remembered with admiration. Kindly assure his wife, Nurieyyeh, and other members of his family of the supplications of the House of Justice in the Holy Shrines for the progress of his soul throughout the worlds of God. Prayers will also be offered for the comfort and solace of their hearts at this time of loss."[3]
