Aqa Muhammad-Javad-i-Kashani

Aqa Muhammad-Javad-i-Kashani was an early Bábí and Bahá’í of Kashan.

Background[edit]

Javad was a nephew of Hájí Mírzá Jání, the first Bábí of Kashan, and he met the Báb when he stayed at his uncles home in March 1847 and became a Bábí.[1]

In the 1850's Javad moved to Baghdad with his son, Aqa Husayn-i-Ashchi, to reside near Bahá’u’lláh. While in Baghdad Bahá’u’lláh gave him the task of going to Tehran to secure a marriage between His niece Shahr-Bánú Khanum and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.[1] Bahá’u’lláh entrusted him with a ring and a cashmere shawl which he delivered to Tehran.[2]

Javad fell ill in Kirmanshah during his journey back to Baghdad from Tehran and he passed away as he was arriving in Baghdad.[1]
