Annapolis is a city in the U.S. state of Maryland.
History[edit]
Stanwood Cobb was perhaps the earliest person to teach the Faith in Annapolis establishing a study group in 1919,[1] however a community was not established with the city having no Bahá’í residents as of 1969.[2]
As of 1971 there was only one isolated Bahá’í living in Annapolis but in February that year a teaching team visited the city and conducted a mass teaching campaign resulting in five declarations,[3] and a Local Spiritual Assembly had been formed by 1974.[4]
As of 1977 the Local Spiritual Assembly of Annapolis was considered to be in jeopardy,[5] and in 1978 the Spiritual Assembly of Anne Arundel County undertook an ambitious teaching activity by sponsoring the Jeff Reynolds Show on WNAV Radio based in Annapolis.[6]
As of 1985 the Annapolis Assembly had lapsed with the city having seven Bahá’í residents,[7] although in 1987 a Bahá’í youth embarked on plans to establish a Bahá’í Club at St. John's College in the city.[8]
