Amínu’lláh Qurbánpúr

Amínu’lláh Qurbánpúr (1925 - August 25, 1984) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Qurbánpúr was born into a Bahá’í family in Babakandi, Azerbaijan province, in 1925. In his youth he completed primary school and high school and a term of military service. After completing his military service he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Babakandi and served for four years.[1]
In 1955 Qurbánpúr and his family pioneered to Majidiyyih, a suburb of Tehran, where he established himself as a dairy farmer and served on the Local Spiritual Assembly for seven years. He pioneered to another suburb of Tehran, Khak-e-Sefid, in 1967.[1]
At midnight on May 20, 1984, Qurbánpúr's home was raided by Revolutionary Guards and he was arrested and imprisoned in a local jail. He was tranferred to Gohardasht prison after a short time and kept in solitary confinement before being transferred to Evin prison. His family attempted to visit him at Gohardasht prison and were informed he had been transferred to Evin, however when they attmempted to visit him in Evin they were advised he had been transferred elsewhere. After being directed to several prisons his family was informed he had passed away. They were intially told he had passed due to illness however when they visited the mortuary an attendant advised them that he had been executed.[1]
