Alpharetta is a city in the U.S. State of Georgia which is a part of the metropolitan area of Atlanta.
History[edit]
In 1986 the National Youth Committee of the United States established eleven Regional Youth Committees to coordinate youth activities at a more local level and one of the new Committees was based in Alpharetta.[1] In October 1989 an Atlanta Bahá’í youth group was invited to perform a program titled Barriers to Peace at the Milton High School in Alpharetta which received positive feedback and resulted in several repeat performances at the school.[2] Several students attended a fireside in Alpharetta afterwards.[3]
Alpharetta had established a Local Spiritual Assembly some time prior to 1990 however that year it was not able to submit its election results to the National Spiritual Assembly,[4] and in 1991 it was announced that three homefront pioneers were needed to keep the Assembly intact.[5]
