Alláh-Virdí Mítháqí

Alláh-Virdí Mítháqí (1920 - July 29, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred.

Biography[edit]

Mítháqí was born in Mamaghan in the province of Azerbaijan in 1920. After completing his high school education he moved to Tabriz where he completed an Arts degree at Tabriz University and he then began working for the Ministry of Education. He married in 1953 and had five children.[1]

When the Iranian Revolution began in 1979 Mítháqí was dismissed by the Ministry of Education because he was a Bahá’í and on April 22, 1980, he was arrested and held in Tabriz prison. He was executed by firing squad on July 29, 1981, along with several other Bahá’ís. Their families were informed of their executions the following day.[2]
