Ahmad-‘Alí Thábit-Sarvistání

Ahmad-‘Alí Thábit-Sarvistání (March 25, 1912 - June 30, 1983) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Thábit was born into a Bahá’í family in Sarvestan in 1912. He married in 1938 and he and his wife pioneered to Khafr in 1944. During their time in Khafr persecution of the Bahá’í Faith worsened and they moved to Takht-e-Jamshid in 1956 as a result where Thábit opened a herbal medicine store. They later moved to Marvdasht where Thábit opened another store which was ultimately looted and destroyed by a mob.[1]
On December 4, 1982, the Revolutionary Tribunal of Shiraz ordered Thábit to come to Shiraz and upon arriving he was arrested. Due to his age he became severely ill during imprisonment and despite suffering from severe asthma he was denied medication or hospitalization for an extended period. He was eventually admitted to a hospital but passed three days later on June 30, 1983. He was given a Bahá’í burial by his family in the Bahá’í cemetery of Shiraz.[1]
