Afshin Shokoufeh Mosadegh (September 23, 1968 - December 3, 2001) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Tajikistan.

Biography[edit]

Mosadegh was born in Rasht, Iran, in 1968. He became a Bahá’í in 1991 and married Soheilah Mehrabhani the same year. He moved to Tajikistan at some point where he contributed to the development of the countries Bahá’í community and served on the Local Spiritual Assmebly of Dushanbe and National Spiritual Assembly of Tajikistan.[1]

In December, 2001, Mosadegh was shot outside of his home in Dushanbe and passed away while being taken to a hospital. A government inquest into his death ruled that he was murdered by a fanatical element in Tajikistan who were opposed to the Bahá’í Faith.[1]
