‘Azízu’lláh Gulshaní

‘Azízu’lláh Gulshaní (April 28, 1918 - April 29, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Gulshaní was born into a Bahá’í family in Bushriyih in 1918. He completed a degree in Education and his career allowed him to pioneer to several cities in Khurasan province. He later settled in Mashhad and was elected to the cities Local Spiritual Assembly in 1980.[1]
On December 26, 1980, a petrol bomb was thrown into Gulshaní's bedroom in the evening causing burns on his arm. He was later sent a letter by the Revolutionary Central Committee requesting that he present himself to be questioned. When he did so he was arrrested on Janaury 19, 1982, and he was executed by hanging on April 29, 1982. His family was not informed of his execution and his body was not returned for burial, with his family learning of his death when it was reported in a local newspaper three days later.[1]
