‘Atá’u’lláh Yávarí

‘Atá’u’lláh Yávarí (1946 - January 4, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Yávarí was born into a Bahá’í family in Yazd in 1946. He moved to Tehran at some point and was elected to the cities Local Spiritual Assembly in January 1980 after the Secretary of the Assembly, Ruhi Rowshani, was abducted.[1]

On November 2, 1981, Yávarí was arrested at a Local Spiritual Assembly meeting and taken to Evin prison where he was held until being executed on January 4, 1982. His body was not returned to his family for burial.[1]
