‘Alí-Muhammad Zamání

‘Alí-Muhammad Zamání (1929 - May 15, 1984) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Zamání was born into a Bahá’í family in Jasb in 1929. He relocated to Tehran as a teenager then pioneered to the village of Hamidanak to assist in establishing a Bahá’í community. He undertook his compulsory military service and then began working for a private company. At some point he established himself in Vahdiyeh where he served on the Local Spiritual Assembly for twelve years.[1]

On May 5, 1983, Zamání was arrested then imprisoned in Gohardasht prison in Tehran for seven months before being transferred to Evin prison. He was executed by firing squad on May 15, 1984, and his family was sent a bill ordering them to pay the cost of the bullets used to execute him. His body was not returned to his family for burial.[1]
