‘Abdu’l-Husayn Ázádí

‘Abdu’l-Husayn Ázádí (1917 - June 16, 1983) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Ázádí was born in Khormoj in Bushehr Province in 1917. After completing his schooling he began working for Iran's Ministry of Agriculture in the city of Bushehr and he was also an active member of the cities Bahá’í community being elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly. In 1978 he pioneered to Akbarabad, near Shiraz, where he was also elected to the Local Assembly.[1]
On November 29, 1982, Ázádí was arrested and held in Sepah Detention Centre. He experienced severe torture during his imprisonment suffering internal bleeding in his stomach and lungs before being executed by hanging alongside five fellow Bahá’ís on June 16, 1983.[1]
