‘Abdu’l-‘Alí Asadyárí

‘Abdu’l-‘Alí Asadyárí (1927 - July 29, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Asadyárí was born into a Muslim family in Kadijan in 1927. He enrolled in Tabriz University in his youth and completed studies at the College of Education before undertaking military service. He was stationed in Ardibil for his military service where he discovered and converted to the Bahá’í Faith which resulted in him being disinherited by his family.[1]
After his military service Asadyárí begn working for the Iranian Ministry of Education and he was transferred between several villages before settling in Meshkinshahr. He was later transferred to Tabriz where he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly in 1969.[1]
On June 15, 1980, Asadyárí was arrested and held in solitary confinement for twenty-one days. He was then transferred to a general ward in Tabriz prison where he was held until being executed on July 29, 1981, alongside eight fellow Bahá’ís.[1]
