Ágáhu’lláh Tízfahm

Ágáhu’lláh Tízfahm (July 4, 1939 - May 10, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Tízfahm was born into a Bahá’í family in Maraghih in 1939. He moved to Tabriz to further his education and completed a teaching egree then began working for the Ministry of Education. He established himself in Urmia where he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly in 1971 and was often persecuted for his religious beliefs.[1]

When the Iranian Revolution began in 1979 Tizfahm was dismissed by the Ministry of Education due to being a Bahá’í and on October 29, 1981, he was arrested in his home. He was held in an abandoned house for seventeen days before being transferred to Urmia prison where he was executed by firing squad on May 10, 1982.[1]
