Looks like I didn't end up helping after all :p Thank you for uploading the picture of 'Abdu'l-Baha :) --David 10:17, 14 June 2007 (MDT)
Hi m8 :)[edit]
Your article about Shoghi Effendi is looking great, it's really developing well :) --David 02:43, 19 June 2007 (MDT)
Hi[edit]
I'm developing the help pages for Bahaikipedia right now and I wanted feedback for our community discussion area. Wikipedia calls their's the "Village pump" so I thought we could come up with something clever for bahaikipedia :)
Help pages start here: Help:Contents

International Conference[edit]
Hi Gerald,
We are hosting an Bahaikipedia International Baha'i Conference happening during the summer of 2008. I want to encourage you to get involved. The purpose of Bahaikipedia is to standardize all of the information relating to the Baha'i faith. We will host an international conference for the same reason, to bring the Baha'is from around the world together to get them all on the same page with the core activities, hearing from those communities that have been most successful with them.
All pages relating to the conference can be found here If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. David 02:27, 7 August 2007 (MDT)
Hi Gerald[edit]
I saw the message in the Pilgrim house while you had it up and wanted to reply but did not get the chance. Were you planning on transferring it to the talk page? Let me know. David 10:52, 7 August 2007 (MDT)
Pilgrim House[edit]
You're free to do it however you like. The link to wikipedia's 5 pillars is just to show an example, we will create our own but it is quite unnecessary now. Personally I am too busy, now I am traveling and organizing the Baha'i conference. I'd love for you to help out with that, if you can give feedback or suggestions it would be great. --David 11:09, 7 August 2007 (MDT)
Taiwan[edit]
Yah Taiwan is fun, I am traveling to gather information on the faith in this region and I go to Malaysia on the 9th. David 11:22, 7 August 2007 (MDT)
Citing[edit]
To comply with the licensing anything taken from wikipedia will need to be cited, so just add a link to the wikipedia article.
Hi Gerald[edit]
It's great to have you back and contributing to the site again :) How is everything going for you? David 04:27, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
- Oh wow you found the faith online? What site did you use to learn about it? It would be great if we could use your experience to help shape bahaikipedia to be most beneficial to people who know very little about the faith and wish to learn more. Regards, David 06:43, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
- There is at this time no good single site, I learned the most from Wikipedia. Having links to follow when a subject interests you, and having heavy sourcing from the writings is most helpful. I think that a Wiki is the best kind of site for research. Having some basic articles listed on the front page, such as to the central figures and basic teachings, would be very nice I think, for people interested in the Faith, perhaps a box in the sidebar. Gerald 06:46, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
- What about Bahai.org or Bahai.us, did you visit either of those? Or how about the Baha'i news sites? David 06:51, 11 October 2007 (MDT)

Book covers[edit]
No, unfortunately they are not public domain, they are fair use, meaning non-commercial, low-resolution, etc. etc. Bahaikipedia has permission from a few of the publishers to use them on top of them being fair use, but I do not think they can be used outside the site so easily. David 06:49, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
cb sites[edit]
Hi Gerald,
Yah I had noticed that also when I was doing my research on the Faith. Any more obscure topic will bring up a covenant breaker site, haha. But this project should be able to really help in that area as it should start showing up above those sites and people will come here to learn about the Faith. David 18:21, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
Tahirih BPOV[edit]
Hmm, something made me add it, haha. I am not sure what now though. If you have read through it you may remove the tag there or any where else you see fit. David 07:11, 12 October 2007 (MDT)
alt codes[edit]
á is alt+0225, í is alt+0237. ú is alt+0250 (in case you ever need it). The following link on html espace sequences might be useful too, if ever you want to use those. Cheers! --Dragfyre 17:34, 13 October 2007 (MDT)
Quotes[edit]
Hi Gerald,
I don't have any time now but the quotes idea is great. Please feel free to include it however you would like and I am sure that it will be edited by others as well to make it a great addition to the site. Btw I've been removing "Baha'i" from page titles and category names, because this is a baha'i encyclopedia, I don't feel we need to keep stating it over and over again. As for the vandalism, that is something that started about 3 weeks ago but I don't think we can do anything but remove it.
Regards, David 07:40, 14 October 2007 (MDT)
Hi Gerald[edit]
Just for your information I have been toying with a variety of anti-spam features. If possible I will try not to disable anonymous editing. Please let me know if you run in to any new error messages while using the site. Regards, David 07:30, 15 October 2007 (MDT)
Pictures[edit]
Hi Gerald,
I'm really glad that you've work on the article on Bahá'u'lláh, it would seem that it is one of the most visited articles statistically. I would like to move the images to Commons though, and I need the "captions" that go along with them to comply with the terms. Can you tell me where you got them? I looked but couldn't find them. Regards, David 19:00, 8 November 2007 (MST)
- Ahh yah I just ran in to that site today and put it in the external links on Bahá'u'lláh, it's a great site indeed. I will keep an eye out for the pictures on media.bahai.org also, thank you again :)
- Cheers, David 03:06, 10 November 2007 (MST)
Welcome back[edit]
Hi Gerald,
It's good to have you back on board :) Did you want me to rename your user account for you to "Gerald T. Fernandez-Mayfield"?
Best, David 11:19, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
