San José is the capital city of Costa Rica.
History[edit]
As of October 1940 Gayle Woolson had pioneered to San José,[1] and she was joined by Amalia Ford soon after and they found success in teaching[2] with the Local Spiritual Assembly of San José being established in 1941.[3] The Inter-America Committee gifted a copper plaque with the Greatest Name imprinted on it to the newly formed Assembly.[4]
Other Americans visited San José after the Assembly was formed with John Eichenauer visiting from July to September 1941 and Louise Caswell visiting from August to September.[5] Amalia Ford returned to the United States in late 1941,[6] leaving thirteen Bahá’ís in San José including her fellow pioneer Gayle Woolson.[5]
